![]() ![]() I'd have liked to know the words for structures like a bridge or a tower. Duolingo does household pets, panda and owl, but I would have liked to learn the words for more zoo animals like elephant and snake. But all the same, I would have liked more wide ranging vocabulary. At the same time, I do realise a course can't be made just to suit me.Learning things like "reimbursement," "capital" and "expense claim" really didn't do anything for me. I realise Duolingo has to deal with people who might need to go over to China and get a job, but there were so many business type lessons near the end. I found a few topics completely boring. In some cases I ended up having to learn a particular English sentence rather than being able to freely translate the text. Many of them have been discussed for years on the forums but no-one is fixing them. The Chinese course has a lot of bugs, and they get worse towards the end. This one lack of feature stopped me buying a membership in the end. In the end I switched to the desktop and used browser settings to make the font larger. I've not got the greatest eyesight, and it seems weird that we've reached 2022 and Duolingo still has an app where you can't adjust the font size. I found the app unusable - and sometimes physically painful. What I thought of the course = the bad stuff: So I owe a lot to the community who constantly put themselves out to be helpful. I would have been lost and stuck many times if those weren't in play. ![]()
